CRV east London's luncheon club - in the old days

CRV - East London luncheon club first opened in 1986 at St Margraret's House - Old Ford Road - London E2 9PL. It was funded by London borough of Tower Hamlets. At the beginning we only opened one day a week, but we received a strong support from Tower Hamlets Council and Age Concern ( now Age U.K).

Every week there were about 50 Vietnamese/Chinese elderly members attending to CRV east London luncheon club.

All elderly members in the photo passed away but except one man, his name is Lanh Nguyen , he is still alive and living in Isle of Dogs. He sometimes comes to our present luncheon club, he is 96 years old, he does not come regularly because he has no more friends and present elderly members are too young for him.
