Councillor Khanh Thanh Vu - 15 August 1944 - 21 April 2022

Councillor Khanh Thanh Vu was a professor of Confucian Philosophy in Vietnam

In 1986 , Mr Vu set up An Viet foundation in Hackney - London

During 30 years serving Vietnamee community in Hackney , he enpowered people to become self sufficient, by offering training & apprenticeship in An Viet Community centre , to help people to help thmselves.

In Hackney 2002, Mr Vu became the first Vietnamese in the U.K to be elected as a Councillor. In 2006, he was awarded an MBE from the Queen in recognition for his services to the Community.


Sadly Mr Khanh Thanh Vu has sadly passed away after a brave battle with cancer, dementia and finally Covid on 21 April 2022.
